‎Honourable Raila Odinga has reportedly acknowledged the growing disputes in various parts of the nation, particularly in Kisii County, are becoming too numerous and challenging to resolve. Raila Odinga said that Kenyans must let the “Project” vanish because of the historical obligation that he carries.

This declaration came after a rally in Kisii County where Raila’s running mate, Martha Karua, was supposed to preside over a political function that ended in disgrace after a tear gas projectile was hurled at the VIP dias. The candidates for the gubernatorial seat in Kisii County leveled allegations and pointed fingers at one another, blaming the other for the shameful incident.

Makau Mutua issues address on Kisii incident

Prof. Makau Mutua, who happens to be the spokesman for Raila Odinga’s presidential campaign secretariat, claimed that the leaders were sabotaging the campaign by utilizing Raila’s clout in the area. As this happens, it has been confirmed that police identified the young cop who lobbed the tear gas canister at Martha Karua’s rally in Gusii Stadium.

I have been condemning the violence. Earlier, I held several meetings with leaders from Kisii and advised them that there should be no animosity between them, especially when faced with fierce competition from our opponents. I told them that they all belong to the same family in the Azimio, despite being in the ODM, Jubilee, UPA, DAP-K parties among others, ” said Raila.

“First of all, I strongly condemn the incident that took place at Gusii Stadium when Ms. Karua was meeting with the mothers. It is a sad thing and we must condemn it in every way. I understand that one policeman was arrested. However, it is more likely that he was sponsored by someone, ” Raila added.

Raila’s fate in this country remains completely unpredictable on whether he will make it to State House since there is nowhere he is guaranteed votes like Ruto.
