The former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko filed 20 video clips at Kenya’s apex court, Supreme Court, as evidence in the hearing review of his impeachment case.
He filed 20 video clips as evidence to convince the supreme court judges to hear and determine his impeachment case to rescind their previous ruling of upholding the impeachment.

Among the videos, Sonko filed a thread exposing how the comprised High Court Judge ruling on his impeachment case discussed and planned to uphold the impeachment.
However, Nairobi County Assembly lawyer Kevin Kokobe has dared to expunge the video clips from Sonko’s evidence submitted to the supreme court citing that he doubts if the said certificates and footage in the video lodged at the supreme court which was reportedly served late when they had already filed the responses and submissions would serve as evidence in the case.
“I have taken pains to go through the video clips in Volume 4 listed in Pages 511 to 524, which appear to adduce the certificate videos evidence. l doubt if the said certificates and footage can be used as we were served late when we had already filed our responses and submissions,” Kokobe said.
Sonko was re-directed by the supreme to file evidence for the review of his impeachment case that is set to be heard today by the Supreme Court.
In his argument, the ex-Nairobi county chief had also urged the supreme court chief Justice Martha Koome to restrain from utterances indicating to block him from vying on the allegations that he was lawfully impeached.
Earlier on, the High Court had served Sonko a greenlight by directing the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to clear Sonko to vie for Mombasa gubernatorial seat.
The supreme court on the other hand upheld Sonko’s impeachment and addressed the electoral commission to revoke the governor aspirant’s clearance certificate.
Sonko is seeking to replace Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho in August contest on the Azimio-affiliated Wiper Party.
