Since the joining of Kenya Kwanza by Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula, who are commonly regarded as the Western Region and Luhya land kingpins. The region has long been seen as a battleground, despite its early status as an ODM stronghold. Major political parties have been successful in electing their preferred candidates to various offices in the region’s four counties.
However, the fight is primarily between Raila Odinga’s ODM and, in particular, Wycliffe Oparanya in the Region, Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC, and Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya. Let’s see which of the three parties could wind up with key top seats in the four counties, based on the most current surveys. That is the location of the governor’s three major county seats.
1. County of Busia
According to current polls, ODM has a better chance of winning two top seats in Busia County, with the exception of the Senatorial seat, which could go to National Reconstruction Alliance Party leader Okiya Omtata. Okiya is a member of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya party. Paul Otuoma, an ODM candidate, is expected to win the Gubernatorial seat, while Catherine Omanyo, an ODM candidate who defected from the ANC, is expected to win the Women Representative seat.
2. Bungoma County
According to the most recent opinion surveys in Bungoma County, Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya Party is the favorite to win all three county top seats. As shown in the most recent poll findings below, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka is the favorite to win the Gubernatorial election, Wetangula is the favorite to win the Senatorial race by a massive margin, and Wambilianga is the favorite to win the Women Rep seat by a significant margin.
County of Vihiga
Only one seat, the Women Representative position, is up for grabs for the ANC in Vihiga County. Wilber Otichillo of the ODM is the favorite to win a second term as governor, while Godfrey Osotsi of the ODM is the favorite to win a Senate seat.
