Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya party head Moses Wetangula have challenged Luhya legislators allied to Azimio – One Kenya to publicly disclose an agreement signed in the coalition on what the Luhya community will get in the Azimio government.

Speaking on Sunday, 11th June 2022, during the Kenya Kwanza rally at Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega, Mudavadi boasted that DP Ruto’s government will offer 30 per cent of his government to the Luhya community when elected president in the next election.

He added that the three Kenya Kwanza principals, DP Ruto, Moses Wetangula and Mudavadi, signed an agreement that was lodged at the Registrar of Political Parties, stamping the 30 per cent shares in the Kenya Kwanza government for the people of Mulembe nation.

“We (Ruto, Mudavadi and Wetangula) signed an agreement that was deposited at the Registrar of Political Parties. In the agreement, we agreed that Ruto’s administration will offer our community (Luhya community) 30 per cent of the government” he said.

Mudavadi added Ruto assured to construct more than 1000KM additional road networks in the Western region.

He also claimed that the Kenya Kwanza government will revive the collapsed and ailing factories such as Mumias and Nzioa sugar belts in Western Kenya.

“We also agreed that Ruto’s government will build additional 1000KM road networks in the Western region and revive our collapsed factories such as Mumias and Nzioa sugar belts so that our jobless youths can secure job opportunities ” he added.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula on the other quashed Raila’s alleged MOU about serving the interests of Mulembe people. Wetangula alleged that Raila and Luhya legislators allied to Azimio – One Kenya only signed an MOU that can’t be deposited at the Registrar of Political Parties.

He noted that an MOU serves as a confirmatory note of intending to do something but an Agreement is enforceable.

“They signed an MOU, not an agreement. An MOU is confirmatory of an intention and sometimes can not be enforceable while an agreement is enforceable” Wetangula said.
