The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader and Azimio – One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga has gunned DP Ruto over August, 9 election rigging claims.

Speaking on Tuesday, 14th June 2022, during the campaign trail in Makueni county, where he was flanked by Wiper party chief Kalonzo Musyoka and a host of Azimio – One Kenya allied governors, Raila dismissed Ruto’s claims of Azimio planning to rig election in the forthcoming contest.

Raila demeaned Ruto’s popularity citing that he (Ruto) doesn’t bear significant support to guarantee him victory in the upcoming election.

“Ule jamaa wa Tangatanga (Ruto) ameona tunaenda kumshinda, Sasa ameanza kulia eti ooh, mara kura yake itaibiwa” said Raila.

He expressed confidence that Azimio – One Kenya faction will wrestle down DP Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza in the presidential race.

“Ameanza kuwa na wasi wasi kwa sababu anajua tutamshinda asubuhi na mapema. Sasa anasema eti tutaiba kura yake. Huna kura na unasema tunapanga kukuibia?” Raila posed.

In the recent meeting with European Union at his Karen residence, Ruto lodged complaints that there were reports that close to 1 million voters, in his perceived hotbed, had been obliterated from the system of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

“You (EU envoys) have seen in the media that there was an attempt to obliterate names from the IEBC register and almost 800,000 names have somehow disappeared from the registers. It is in the public domain and I think even the IEBC has said they are doing remedial steps” said Ruto
