Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja’s city hall journey seems to be characterized by bumps and hurdles and Commission for University Education (CUE) lists ten (10) crucial details, that ought to be submitted on Monday, 20th June 2022. The commission for University Education chairperson has asked Sakaja to submit a Letter of admission, Examination schedule, Student Identification number, Fee payment, Letter of application, graduation booklet, graduation fees, names of lecturers, Communication with the university staff, graduation photo or any evidence indicating that he graduated from Teams University, Uganda.
Commission for University Education is set to meet Sakaja on Monday, 20th June 2022 at the CUE offices.
CUE chairperson Professor Chacha Nyaigoti Chacha revoked Sakaja’s degree recognition early this pending determination of the case lodged at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Disputes Resolution Committee, which is set to be ruled on Sunday at 2 pm.
A voter petitioned the Commission Tribunal seeking to compel the IEBC to Sakaja’s clearance certificate for a gubernatorial contest, citing forgery of his degree certificate in Bachelor of Science in Management at Teams University.
Gakuru Wahome argued that Sakaja was a full-time legislator and didn’t attend course classes at the institution, therefore, the acquisition of his degree portrays some sense of forgery and it obtaining falsely.
Sakaja defends himself
Sakaja defended himself by informing us that the person addressed in the complaint is not him and has never been involved in the falsification practices of acquiring a university degree.
Today, Friday, Sakaja presented himself at DCI headquarters along Kiambu road after the newspaper tipped about plans to arrest him over forgery of a degree certificate.
