Inside Kidero, Ruto’s Scheme To Dilute Raila’s Influence In Luo Nyanza

Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has announced his readiness to join hands with President William Ruto and his government.

He is among the Luo Nyanza politicians who have fallen out with opposition chief Raila Odinga over among others, allegedly rigged ODM nominations.

He now says that he would not mind joining Ruto and even serving in his cabinet in the event he is considered for a state job.

The leader, who sought the Homa Bay governor seat in August, says that as long as the job is for the benefit of the republic, he will gladly take it.

“I mean, that is part of the delivery process. If there is any assignment that will work towards the delivery of his agenda, I will support that,” he told The Star.

But he has said that he might not be free to join Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party at the moment, given that the political season is over.

Kidero says that it is clear that Ruto is already in office and doesn’t need any more allies, only support, which he is ready to give as a responsible citizen.

“Right now is not the time for politics. It is the time for working to build the nation. Politics is an organisation in that people get together to get power,” he says.

He now joins Nyanza August losers and former Raila allies endearing themselves to Ruto after losing to ODM candidates in the concluded elections.

They, however, have not been considered for any jobs yet, with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua recently saying that they might not get anything from Ruto.
