Incumbent governor Patrick Ntutu is leading the Narok County governor race according to the latest polls from Mwelekeo Insights.
The poll, carried out on their digital platform, places the current governor ahead of other contenders. Moitalel Ole Kenta sits close behind him, with Ledama Ole Kina, Chelosgei Tisirwai and Gabriel Koshal Tongoyo following in that order.
The numbers show a tight top end of the race, with Ntutu at 26.2 percent, Kenta at 25.8 percent and Ledama at 24.6 percent. The remaining candidates trail further behind, and a small share went to others.
This early look at voter preference comes as politicians across Kenya begin to position themselves for the 2027 general election. Narok remains an important county in the Rift Valley, and the results suggest the contest could stay competitive for some time. Ntutu’s modest lead reflects the strength of the other main names in the field. Kenta and Ledama are both well known in the county, and their strong showing indicates that voters are still weighing their options carefully.
A close race in Narok
The gap between the top three candidates is small. Ntutu’s 26.2 percent puts him just ahead of Kenta’s 25.8 percent, while Ledama is only a short distance further back at 24.6 percent. Chelosgei Tisirwai holds 15.9 percent and Tongoyo has 6.7 percent. These figures come from an online poll that invited residents to take part and share their preferred choice for governor. Because the race is still more than a year away from election day, the standings can change as campaigns gather pace and candidates make their cases more clearly to the public.
The poll also shows that a large majority of those who took part backed one of the main named candidates. Only a tiny share chose the “others” option. This points to a field that is already fairly well defined in the minds of many voters in Narok. Local issues such as infrastructure, education, water and the management of the Maasai Mara are likely to play a big role in how the race develops from here.
Mwelekeo Insights has been running a series of similar opinion polls in different counties.
In the Nairobi gubernatorial race, their October 2026 poll showed Babu Owino slightly ahead at 22.4 percent, with Agnes Kagure very close behind at 22.3 percent.
Ronald Karauri came third.
In Kitui, another poll by the same firm placed Charity Ngilu in the lead at 27.3 percent, followed by Enoch Wambua at 25.6 percent and Dr Irene Kasulu at 23.2 percent.
