President William Ruto should not think that he will be allowed to renege on any of the promises he made during the campaigns, he has been cautioned.

The Head of State made a number of vows, most aimed at bettering the lives of Kenyans, with the people now looking forward to their implementation.

But he has been cautioned that he doesn’t have the leisure of going back on them, with former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho announcing that they will be on his neck if he fails to do as he said.

The ODM Co-Deputy Party Leader has said that as the opposition, they will press Ruto to ensure that he does everything he should be doing, and are planning on keeping his government in check.

“We are strong, when the government comes in, it has responsibilities. We must look at it and criticize it where they are wrong. And today I am happy because the port is back but we want to see it working,” the leader is quoted by The Citizen Digital.

He made the remarks in Mombasa on Thursday.

He spoke while confirming that some of the promises Ruto made are already in the early stages of being reneged on, like the return of the port to Mombasa.

Joho said that upon looking into the issue, he has found out that there is nothing that has been done about if officially as follow up to the declarations Ruto made in rallies during his campaigns.

“Yesterday I asked the people of the port if they have started the order they were given by the president the other day and they said they are not aware of formal communication. We are watching them carefully,” he said.
