The lifeless body of Daniel Mbolu Musyoka, 53, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in Embakasi East Constituency was found at the bottom of Mt Kilimanjaro, Loitoktok, Kajiado county on Monday, 15th August, evening.
The mutilated body was reportedly spotted by herders at the bottom of Mt Kilimanjaro before raising an alarm to the police for the body to be ferried to Loitoktok Sub-county mortuary, where Daniel Musyoka’s sister identified the deceased.
According to Loitoktok police boss Kipruto Ruto, Mr Musyoka’s was seemingly strangled to death after being subjected to immense torture from the abductors and body dumbed in a seasonal river, that is known for crime scenes.
“It is evident that the victim was killed elsewhere and the body dumped in the valley. The body has scars indicating torture before the death. He possibly died a painful death,” said Ruto.
This emerges after the electoral commission chairman Wafula Chebukati raised an alarm over the missing IEBC official during the announcement of presidential results on Monday, at Bomas of Kenya.
Deputy President William Ruto floored Raila by garnering 7,176,141 votes that represents 50.45 per cent of votes cast. Azimio – One Kenya candidate Raila Odinga wielded 6,942,940 votes that reflects 48.85 per cent od the votes cast.

However, Four IEBC commissioners, disowned the presidential results announced by Chebukati, citing opaque nature of the electoral processes.
“We have conducted the 2022 general election and have ensured we have improved the standards and consistently communicated what is happening, have partnered with all stakeholders and say for a fact as a commission we have done a good job. But some things need to be put out there” said IEBC vice chair.
“As you can see we are here (at Serena Hotel) and not at Bomas (national tallying centre) because of the opaque nature of how this phase has been handled. We, therefore, cannot take ownership of the result that will be announced.” She added.
