The investigations of the business woman Monica Kimani’s murder case where Joseph Irungu and the former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe are the main suspects, was completed on Wednesday, 20th July, 2022.

The Investigation officer Chief Inspector Maxwell Otieno, told the court that the blurred object that is believed to have been used in executing the murder of Monica Kimani hadn’t been recovered from the house, in Lamuria Gardens, Kilimani.

“We have searched thoroughly in the house but we couldn’t recover the blurred object that is believed to have been used in the murder of the deceased” Maxwell Otieno said.

The business woman, Monica Kimani was murdered on 19th September, 2018 in her house where the lifeless and mutilated body  was found in a bathroom with the head chopped off.

The former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe and her alleged lover Jowie are the main suspects in the murder of Kimani as the photographic evidence shows that Jowie, who was in company of Jacque Maribe, was the last person to be with the deceased on the fateful day she was murdered.

However, Jacque Maribe’s lawyer Katwa Kigen has defended the accused, citing that there is no evidence linking his client to the murder of Monica Kimani.

“As far as you’re concerned she is connected to this murder in the five items you have listed there; the use of motor vehicle belonging to the second accused, the burning of clothes, the switching off of the phone, the two statements and that they were together in club,” said Kigen.

Otieno on the other hand told the court that weapon that is believed to have been used in the murder of Kimani was facilitated and submitted by Maribe.

“The weapon that was used in the process of that murder, that facilitated the submission by the deceased person, is now found in the house of accused number 2…and as I said accused number 2 facilitated accused number one by availing her vehicle which took him to the house of the deceased.” said Otieno.
