Deputy President William Ruto’s led Kenya Kwanza Alliance principal of Tujibebe Wakenya party William Kabogo has asserted to know the fifth president suitable to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 9, contest.
Speaking immediately after the deputy presidential debate, Kabogo reiterated that the choice of the running mate would determine who becomes the next president among the two perceived horses, William Ruto of Kenya Kwanza and Raila Odinga of Azimio – One Kenya.
“Here we come after the debate, I said, and mark my words I said, that the choice of the deputy, will determine the fifth, so who is your fifth? I know my fifth” Kabogo said in a video he shared on social media sites.
Kabogo had earlier decried alleged frustrations from Ruto’s running mate nominee Rigathi Gachagua, especially during Kenya Kwanza campaigns in the Mt Kenya region.
Kabogo accused Gachagua of throwing weight behind United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party candidate Kimani Wamatangi for Kiambu gubernatorial seat despite Tujibebe Wakenya party being a constituent party in Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
“The selection of Gachagua as the running mate has caused some problems and if we do not say it, then we will be pretending. Many people may fear saying it but it is out there,” Kabogo stated.

Kabogo is seeking to reclaim the gubernatorial seat after he lost it in 2017 to Jubilee party candidate Ferdinand Waititu, who was impeached later.
The looming fallout between Kabogo’s Tujibebe Wakenya party and Kenya Kwanza Alliance has escalated with Kabogo taking a back seat on the coalition’s campaigns.
Speaking on Wajackoyah’s effect on the presidency, Kabogo dismissed the two horses’ narrative and informed that Wajackoyah’s entry into the presidential contest has complicated the matrix for both Raila and Ruto.
We used to say there are two horses in the race. Today we cannot be too sure of the same. There are those who will vote for Raila Odinga, they have always been there. There are those who will vote for William Ruto. There are many who will vote for Wajackoya. I cannot explain what is happening about Wajackoya. Should you turn a blind eye to such a scenario, then you are not a politician in the know,” he added.
