The Kenya Kwanza coalition is now being accused of trying to be secretive with regards to its ongoing talks with the rival Azimio La Umoja side.

This is courtesy of Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, who is wondering why Kenya Kwanza team leader Kimani Ichung’wah rejected live coverage of the sittings.

The politician has questioned them move, basing his argument on the fact that Kenya Kwanza had challenged Azimio to hold open talks.

This is after Kenya Kwanza even rejected an earlier proposal that the talks be held at the Serena Hotel, proposing Bomas of Kenya as the best venue.

Osotsi, who belongs to Azimio, is now wondering why the Kikuyu Member of Parliament kicked the media out of the first sitting and denied the country live coverage.

“You know they had challenged us they wanted it to be public and we said we are ready. When they went for the first meeting, the first person to oppose the live interview was Kimani Ichung’wah. Azimio was prepared to make it live,” he said on Citizen TV’s Day Break show on Monday.

He also questioned Ichung’wah’s positioning as the leader of the team, observing that he does not measure up to the man leading the Azimio team.

The politician said that they want someone equal to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, demanding that Ichung’wah leaves and is replaced with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

“[We wanted] at least someone who is comparable to Kalonzo. Maybe they should have tried somebody like my brother Musalia Mudavadi against Kalonzo that would make sense. But now bringing Ichung’wah a man who can be compared to Kariuki Chotara in the KANU days,” added the parliamentarian.

He dismissed Ichung’wah as a known heckler, whom he stated cannot be made to debate with someone like Kalonzo, an international figure.

“The leader of our team is Kalonzo Musyoka a man with an international stature look at the other side they are being led by a heckler called Kimani Ichung’wah. I hope that they will do better in these talks,” added the leader.
