President Uhuru Kenyatta’s ruling Jubilee party has underscored Kenya Kwanza Alliance running mate nominee Rigathi Gachagua for allegedly aiming at attacking the Azimio – One Kenya coalition’s deputy nominee Martha Karua during the deputy presidential debate on 19th July, 2022.

According to the statement shared on social media sites, Jubilee party thumbed Martha Karua for holding her calmness, composed and articulate despite facing endless attacks from her opponent, Rigathi Gachagua during the debate.

“Well done Mama Martha Karua in a debate where the opponent’s agenda was to provoke you & attack individuals, you remained calm, composed and articulate. The opponent made it clear that they only want power to settle scores against the President and to free up proceeds of corruption so that he can finish his mansion and host keshas,” part of the statement reads.

Jubilee also heaped praises on Karua for demonstrating that Azimio – One Kenya’s agenda is about social justice, social protection of the vulnerable, economic recovery, and uplifting the lives of underprivileged families in the society.

The ruling party noted that Gachagua on the other hand, won the battle of holding grudges and spewing attacks at the opponent and unearthed Kenya Kwanza’s alleged plans to apprehend the head of state when the Alliance takes power in the August 9, election.

“You, on the other hand, made it clear that the Azimio/OKA coalition is about social justice, social protection of the vulnerable, economic recovery, and the well-being of Kenyans. On who holds the biggest grudges, he won hands down. On who cares about Kenyans, who has a grasp of issues affecting mwananchi, you won. You won Kenyans’ hearts, you won, Mama Martha Karua,” the statement added.

Rigathi Gachagua faced off Karua in a heated debate while The Roots Party deputy president nominee Justina Wamae Wambui engaged in a debate battle with Agano Party’s Ruth Mucheru Mutua.
