Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader and Azimio – One Kenya presidential hopeful Raila Odinga has threatened to apprehend the killers of the late businessman Jacob Juma.
Speaking during a campaign trail in Nasianda, Bungoma county, the rural home of the late business mogul, Raila faulted the Kenyan government for allegedly not pursuing the tormentors and perpetrators of Jacob Juma since 2016.
Raila recounted that Jacob Juma had told tipped to him that he (Jacob Juma) had foreseen the death fate haunting him and he was aware of the people hunting his life.
“Before Juma died, he told me that there is a plan to eliminate him but he said he would die for the truth. Juma was aware that there were people who wanted him dead,”
said Mr Odinga.
He said that he was among the first people who arrived at death scene where the the lifeless body of businessman was found.
“I was among the first people who arrived where Juma had been shot some minutes ago. I saw the vehicle which was bullet sprayed,” he added.
The slain businessman
While assuring Justice to the family of Jacob Juma, Raila affirmed that when elected president in August contest, he will ensure all the killers of Juma are apprehended. He told the locals to take is as a debt when he takes power.
“I assure you that the family of the late Jacob Juma will get justice when I take power after August. I will arrest all those people who involved in Juma’s death. Take it from me and as a debt too” he added.
Before his death, Jacbo Juma had accused deputy president William Ruto for allegedly being obsessed in killing him.
“The man obsessed with killing me, is Deputy President William Ruto”
Juma had tweeted.
Jacob Juma was shot dead in 2016 by unknown assailants after sueing the Kenyan government in an international court for 2 trillion.
