Kenya Kwanza Alliance principals have claimed that the head of state president Uhuru Kenyatta is secretly devising plans to shortchange Raila Odinga even after endorsing him for presidency.
Speaking o Sunday, 26th June, 2022, in Kilifi County, Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi alleged that president Uhuru Kenyatta has abandoned Azimio – One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga, owing to the fact that he has failed to campaign for him especially in Mt Kenya region.
Mudavadi noted that Uhuru’s decision to distant himself from Azimio – One Kenya campaigns is a clear indication that something fishy might be brewing in the coalition to determine the fate of Raila Odinga ahead of August 9 contest.
“Uhuru Kenyatta has abandoned the “project”. He has refused to campaign for him in Mt Kenya region. Even after endorsing him to fly the Azimio – One Kenya presidential flag, he has never held a single rally to popularize Raila’s presidential bid” Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi also argued that president Uhuru Kenyatta betrayed DP Ruto even after supporting him in 2013 and 2017 to secure presidency. He claimed that sidelining DP Ruto in the government quashed the flourishing country’s economy, resulting to high cost of living.
“Dr Ruto stood with President Kenyatta from 2013 but after the 2017 polls, he sidelined him. The result of sidelining Dr Ruto is a bad economy. For the first time in history, the price of maize flour has exceeded that of sugar. We cannot proceed with this government,” said Mr Mudavadi.
DP Ruto, on the other hand, affirmed that “deep state” and system won’t rig his votes in favour of Raila as many people may think.
Quoting several by-elections where United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidates defeated ODM and Jubilee candidates (Kiambaa and Msambweni), Ruto noted that Kenya Kwanza will crash Azimio – One Kenya on 9th August, 2022, very early in the morning.
