William Ruto, the deputy president running for president has chosen Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate. According to polls performed by several organizations, Ruto’s chances of victory have decreased since he chose Gachagua as his running mate.

“What we notice in this research is that the naming of the running mates had a huge impact on the popularity of the candidates in various regions,” said Infotrak research CEO Angela Ambitho.

According to their analysis, Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate of the Kenya Alliance, is ahead of the United Democratic Alliance’s nominee, William Ruto.

As Kenyans prepare to vote in the general elections in 2022, presidential candidates have continued campaigning around the country. Raila Odinga, whose running mate is Martha Karua and William Ruto, whose running mate is Rigathi Gachagua are two of the most powerful candidates.
