Political intolerance has been on the rise over the past few years with both sides pointing fingers at each other. They have been blaming the other for employing thugs to vandalize posters in various places across the country. A poster of Kenya Kwanza Presidential Flag Bearer William Ruto was damaged a few days ago in Kisumu City, causing great outrage across the country.

As this happens, followers of former Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja accused the Kenya Kwanza brigade of paying goons to pull it down to make Raila appear bad. A poster belonging to Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance was also vandalized this morning, according to reliable information from Bomet County.

According to photos from the region, which is said to be a stronghold of Kenya Kwanza Presidential Candidate, William Ruto, the poster was damaged by unknown people this morning. It is unclear who vandalized the billboard that has been on display in the town for several days, promoting former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his running companion, Martha Karua, who is also the Narc Kenya Leader.

The news of the poster’s destruction comes just a day after Raila welcomed back Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka into the Azimio fold after several attempts in trying to get Kalonzo to return to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance. Raila Odinga has expressed joy, claiming that his campaign is now fully prepared to take on Ruto in the August elections. Raila likened his camp to a football team, noting that Gideon’s Moi addition was the tenth, while Kalonzo was the eleventh.

Kalonzo has taken the job of Chief Cabinet Secretary with humility, knowing that if Azimio wins, his people will be added to the cabinet. Energy, Water, Health, and Tourism are among the ministries that Kalonzo has requested be considered.

Raila has linked Kalonzo’s role in his government to Raila’s involvement in Kenya’s coalition government under Kibaki. Raila has stated that he intends to serve as Prime Minister.
