A popular Kenyan DJ Joe Mfalme is embroiled in a shocking incident after his arrest, along with three others, for the alleged assault of a police officer in Kikuyu, Kiambu County. The officer, Inspector Felix Kelian Kentos of the Kabete Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), succumbed to his injuries on Friday, March 16, 2024, while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi West Hospital.

According to police reports, the incident unfolded early on Friday morning around 4:00 AM in Kikuyu market. Inspector Kelian was reportedly involved in a traffic accident that did not result in any injuries. Details on the nature of the accident are yet to be released. However, what followed was a violent altercation.

The report states that the DJ along with his bouncer, driver, and photographer, allegedly confronted Inspector Kelian at the scene. The confrontation escalated into a physical assault, leaving the officer with severe abdominal pain and other injuries. Boda boda riders who witnessed the incident are also being sought for questioning.

Inspector Kelian, who did not identify himself as a police officer during the altercation, was initially treated at the scene by traffic police who arrived shortly after. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was admitted to the Nairobi West Hospital. Tragically, despite medical intervention, Inspector Kelian passed away while receiving treatment on Friday.

News of the officer’s death sent shockwaves through the police department. Many of his colleagues visited the Umash Funeral Home on Saturday to pay their respects.
