The high ranking United States of America officials are slotted to hold special joint meeting with the head of state alongside the president elect, William Ruto and the former prime minister Raila Odinga today, Thursday to delegate on peace reconciliation after the just concluded general election.

The U.S ambassador Meg Whitman welcomed the senator Chris Coons led delegation to Kenya, the third stop on a five day country Africa visit.

“Fantastic to welcome the senator Chris Coons led delegation to Kenya, the third stop on a five country Africa visit” U.S Ambassador Meg Whitman said.

The delegation will hold bilateral reconciliations between the two of political factions, Azimio – One Kenya and Kenya Kwanza leader William Ruto. The delegation will meet with conservationists, health providers and organizations working to empower girls.

US Embassy appreciates Kenyans

This comes after the US embassy thanked the people of Kenya for exercising the constitutional duty of electing leaders for various political positions on 9th August, 2022.

“The U.S. Embassy congratulates the people of Kenya for exercising their right to vote in the August 9 election.  We commend the active participation of Kenya’s political parties, civil society, and citizens in shaping robust discussions throughout the campaign period.  We applaud the efforts of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, security forces, and all electoral institutions to organize a peaceful and orderly voting and counting process” US Embassy statement reads.

“Under the leadership of Chair Wafula Chebukati, the IEBC declared William Ruto as the winner of the presidential election.  This is an important milestone in the electoral process.

Going forward, we urge all parties to work together to peacefully resolve any remaining concerns about this election through existing dispute resolution mechanisms.  We ask all political party leaders to continue to urge their supporters to remain peaceful and refrain from violence during the electoral process” added statement.
