CS Njuguna Ndung’u has revealed that President William Ruto is walking on a tight rope as the country’s coffers run dry amid internal and external woes.
The CS said the government was broke and the country struggled to stay afloat as Kenyan shillings continued to fall.
Cs Ndung’u says it is not getting adequate tax revenues to meet it expenditure, revealing why Ruto has been seeking foreign loans.
He claims among internal woes the government has faced in the case of unprepared mitigation of El Nino, which have caused more strain.
The CS added that the Kenya Kwanza administration has faced unprecedented challenges, including the global economic dip, which has sparked national inflation.
CS Ndung’u says they struggle to pay salaries and disburse CDF funds to constituencies.
This comes after MPs protested delay in disbursements of CDF leading to paralysing the Parliamentary businesses.
The uproar led to a staged walk-out by MPs from plenary on Tuesday, calling for an immediate release of the monies.
