Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka has opened up on why he thinks some people are criticizing the ongoing talks between the government and opposition.

There have been criticism on the talks, with most of them coming from the Kenya Kwanza side, which is led by President William Ruto.

Among those complaining has been Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who has said that the talks will not achieve anything and are pointless.

Kalonzo, the leader of the Azimio side of the talks, has advised Kenyans to ignore such people, dismissing them as naysayers.

The former Vice President has added that these are people threatened by the talks for reasons best known to them, adding that their opinion will not affect how the dialogue committee operates.

“We tell Kenyans to ignore the naysayers, there will always be those who feel threatened for whatever reason by something so illustrious cause this is wonderful work. We have agreed on the work plan, the dates and everything. A lot more work remains to be done,” he is quoted by Citizen Digital.

Kalonzo made the remarks when the committee held another meeting at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi on Wednesday.

“We continue to reiterate that this is serious national work. If ever there was a moment this country should come together, it is now and we are determined as a team to make sure that happens,” he said.Kimani Ichung’wah, leader of the Kenya Kwanza side, said that the committee will be meeting again on Friday.

“We have adjourned to Friday this week at 10am to allow the secretariat and the technical teams to work on the prioritisation of the issues and guide us on how we prioritise what issues we begin with,” he said.
