The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Member of Parliament elect for Lurambi Constituency Bishop Titus Khamala has sustained mockery slurs at the long-serving Central Organization of Trade Union (COTU) secretary general Francis Atwoli after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati declared United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirant William Ruto as president-elect in the just concluded election.

In the viral video seen by this writer, Bishop Titus Khamala hilariously mocks the trade unionist by mimicking his famous slurs during the Azimio – One Kenya campaign rallies.

“Papa Atwoli, msitishwe, papa Atwoli wherever you are, Mzee toka nje. Be fearless papa Atwoli, it is me that is talking to you, be fearless. Wengi watavunja redio zao, watavunja TV, they will not believe. Get out of your hiding, we need you out here” MP Titus Khamala laughed back at Atwoli.

Khamala decamped from Amani National Congress (ANC) party of Musalia Mudavadi and joined Raila’s ODM after Mudavadi teamed up with Ruto form Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Atwoli has been on record belittling William Ruto of UDA and expressing confidence in Raila’s state house bid.

William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua were declared president and deputy president-elect by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chair Wafula Chebukati on Monday, 15th August, 2022.

Ruto won the election after garnering 7,176,141 votes (50.49% of total votes cast) against his main challenger in the contest Raila Odinga of Azimio – One Kenya who got 6,942,930 votes, representing 48.89 per cent of the total votes cast.

However, Raila protested and vowed to exhaust legal and constitutional channels to overturn Ruto’s win, terming Chebukati’s results as null and void. He has launched a battery of experienced lawyers and a team of legal experts to file election petition at the supreme court in the bid to challenge Chebukati’s results.
