As the national presidential votes tally enters into the homestretch, details have emerged of a night meeting between The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman, Wafula Chebukati and officials from both UDA and Azimio parties.
The meeting was held on Sunday night, August 14th with the elections board chairman heading the meeting that took over 3 hours. Among those present included all commissioners and party agents, their deputies and secretaries in charge of the Bomas exercise.
Details of the 3-hour meeting have indicated that the electoral commission chair warned the two seemingly rivalry factions to uphold electoral decorum and shun away from any nasty engagements that might temper with the tallying of the votes.
Perennial Commotion erupted after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) official was confronted but unidentified young man and snatched away an electoral gadget before handing it over to a standby woman. The intense of the commotion forced Anti-riot police officers to swing into action and re-install calmness.
The verification process by party agents and IEBC Returning Officers is nearing conclusion with 286 out of 291 Forms 34B having been verified by the time of publishing.
Once the verification of the Forms 34B is done, they will be collated into a single document (Form 34C) and the electoral body will use it to confirm if any candidates achieved the 50 per cent plus one vote threshold.

The IEBC chair, Wafula Chebukati, will then proceed to declare the president-elect and issue a certificate.
If the winner will fail to secure the constitutional requirement of 50+1 per cent, then the winner and run-up will face each other in the run-off.
Yesterday, Sunday, Agano party presidential candidate David Waihiga Mwaure conceded defeat and congratulated whoever will be declared by Chebukati in advance.
The Roots Party leader George Luchiri Wajackoyah comes third according to tallying projected by several media houses with less than 100k votes.
