Deputy President William Ruto who happens to be the presidential candidate for United Democratic Alliance party (UDA), and the entire campaign have submitted emails to various agencies regarding the 2022 August elections.

According to the source, UDA wrote to President Uhuru Kenyatta on January 17 in a letter. It is said that DP Ruto expressed his displeasure with the pattern of violence perpetrated at UDA by some of its opponents.

UDA asked President Uhuru, who is also the chairman of the National Security Council an assurance that Kenyan property and lives will be secured by the state. He cited violence experienced during its campaign in Kondele at Kisumu, Kisii Town, Kenol at Murang’a, and Mahoo ward in Taiya Taveta.

The party also asked that Uhuru ensure that state resources, agencies, and security apparatus were not exploited in a partisan manner to help elect a chosen candidate.

UDA also sent a letter to the Director of Public Prosecutions, requesting that the ODPP file criminal charges against CS. It was a conflict of interest and unconstitutional, according to Fred Matiang’i who is in charge of interior security, Joe Mucheru for ICT, Peter Munya for Agriculture, Keriako Tobiko for Environment, and James Macharia who takes care of the Transport docket for their direct involvement in the campaign for Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance.

UDA submitted to the National Intelligence Services (NIS) complaint board, condemning Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho’s alleged manipulation of intelligence information to campaign for Azimio.

DP Ruto and his UDA allies have stated that all they want is free, fair, unbiased, and credible general elections from the government, IEBC, and security forces in the country.
