Deputy President William Ruto, Kenya Kwanza deputy nominee Rigathi Gachagua, Amani National Congress (ANC) party boss Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya supremo Moses Wetangula and host legislators are set to storm Uhuru’s backyard for earthquake campaigns today, Friday, 20th May.

Ruto is expected to kick off today’s itinerary in Embu where he will hold series of economic forums with grassroot leaders and local traders in seeking plans to absorb the grievances of small markets into Kenya Kwanza Alliance government.

He will later rock the county with thunderous campaigns as a perceived step to counter Azimio – One Kenya’s added bonga point over picking Martha Karua from Mt Kenya region as his running mate.

This comes after Ruto camped in Nakuru county where he flanked with hundreds of legislators from the region as he drummed support for his presidential bid.

Kenya Kwanza brigade will tomorrow tour Murang’a county and revert back to Nakuru on Sunday. He will finalize his five-days tour in Kiambu on Monday.

Both Raila and Ruto have fetched their running mates from the mountain and this has projected scramble for the vote-rich region ahead of August contest.

Ruto settled on Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua who hails from Nyeri county while Raila picked Narc Kenya party boss Martha Karua, from Kirinyaga County.

Gachagua ascended to Mathira Parliamentary seat in 2017 election while Karua lost Kirinyaga governor’s position to Anne Waiguru.
