Former Public Service, Gender, and Special Programs Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has stepped forward to address circulating rumors about his alleged appointment as Kenya’s Ambassador to Ukraine.

Kuria, who recently lost his position in the Cabinet, found himself at the center of speculation following the government’s latest reshuffles.

The rumors, propagated by various blogs and social media platforms, claimed that Kuria, along with other notable figures such as Aisha Jumwa and Ababu Namwamba, had been appointed to prestigious ambassadorial roles.

Specifically, the false reports suggested that Aisha Jumwa had been appointed as Kenya’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Ababu Namwamba to Chad, and Kuria to Ukraine.

In a bid to set the record straight, Kuria took to his verified X account, where he unequivocally dismissed the claims.

“It has come to my attention that false information regarding my appointment as the Ambassador to Ukraine is being circulated by various bloggers. I would like to clarify and assure everyone that the credible and accurate details about any new appointment will only be shared through my official Facebook page and my verified X account @HonMoses_Kuria,” Kuria stated.

He also took the opportunity to underscore the importance of verifying information through official channels, particularly in the age of rampant misinformation. Kuria’s statement was not only a rebuttal of the false claims but also a reminder to the public to be cautious of the sources they trust for news.

That aside, the development comes amid the backdrop of reports that some of the sacked Cabinet Secretaries have been making frequent phone calls to Pres William Ruto, ODM Party leader Hon Raila Odinga, Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua alongside other political godfathers with hopes that they will be employed by the govt again.
