A source has leveled serious accusations against the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports, amid nationwide discontent with President William Ruto’s government. This development comes days after Ruto downplayed any incompetence in his Cabinet.

According to an X post by blogger Cyprian Nyakundi, top officials within the ministry are allegedly involved in rampant corruption and misuse of public resources.

The accusations suggest that public funds are being used to enrich relatives and girlfriends, with some individuals reportedly enjoying taxpayer-funded trips abroad despite lacking official positions.

The source further claims that the Sports office is dominated by employees from a single tribe. Allegedly, a controversial figure unofficially referred to as the “Chief of Staff” wields significant influence, despite lacking an official designation. This individual is accused of corruption and reportedly enjoys protection from higher-ups, despite reports being filed with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

During the Safari Rally 2024, the Ministry’s CS purportedly hosted relatives at luxury five-star hotels in Naivasha, using public funds, as per insider allegations. Initiatives like the “Talanta Hela” program are also criticized as ineffective fronts for siphoning taxpayer money.

Moreover, concerns have been raised about the academic qualifications of both the alleged “Chief of Staff” and a personal assistant to the CS. They are reportedly seen using ministry vehicles for personal errands, raising further questions about their conduct and responsibilities within the ministry.

These revelations paint a troubling picture of alleged mismanagement and misuse of public resources within a critical government ministry, adding to the growing public dissatisfaction with the current administration.
