Raila Goes After Ruto’s Jugular, Warns of a Looming Disaster in Kenya

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Hon. Raila Odinga has this afternoon appeared to deliver a veiled attack on Pres. William Ruto and his KK administration. Raila alleged that a humanitarian disaster could be in the offing if the govt won’t act Quickly to salvage the situation.

According to a report verified by Mambo Mseto, the opposition leader didn’t mince his words when he told Pres. William Ruto to wake up and declare the ongoing floods as a national disaster that needs to be arrested as soon as possible.

According to the opposition leader, 100 Kenyans are dying daily, families are being displaced, properties worth millions of money are being destroyed, and keeping quiet will simply mean that Kenyans are on their own despite having an elected president and active govt.

The development comes hours after video clips, and photos of various places in Kenya showed how ongoing floods have continued to wreak havoc. In some videos, houses could be seen fully submerged in water, and roads such as the Thika Superhighway Were impassable among other outcomes.

Elsewhere, the death toll from the Mathare River floods in Nairobi County has risen to 13 after three more were recovered on Thursday morning.

The three comprised the bodies of two men and a female teenager.

Starahe police boss Fred Abuga said a joint search operation led by the Nairobi County Government and the Kenya Red Cross is still ongoing.

Ten bodies were on Wednesday retrieved from the river following heavy rains witnessed in Nairobi on Tuesday evening.

Various parts of Nairobi experienced heavy rainfall on Tuesday night, resulting in flash floods in areas such as Mukuru, Mathare, Huruma, Ruaraka, Baba Dogo, Bosnia, Umoja 3, Choka, Njiru, Ruai, Utawala, Githurai, Kahawa, Eastern Bypass, Kinoo, Kijabe, Limuru, Ruiru, Graceland, Joska, Kaswito, Kicheko, Mangili, Kenyatta Road, Juja, Kitengela, and Magadi.
