Following the current event, Nairobi County Senator Johnson Sakaja’s candidacy to succeed outgoing Governor Anne Kananu has been put in jeopardy. Sakaja’s campaign for Nairobi County Governor has been put on hold following the Commission for University Education’s recent decision to revoke Sakaja’s degree from Team University in Uganda.

Hon Oscar Sudi, a member of parliament from Kapseret Constituency, has reacted to President Uhuru’s decision to withdraw Sakaja’s degree, stating that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance candidate is being pushed to the brink.

He claims that President Uhuru personally called Uganda before Sakaja’s degree was revoked and that he will shortly identify who President Uhuru called. He has however urged the IEBC to remain steadfast despite the plots and intrigues aimed at taming Sakaja’s candidacy given that he had already been permitted to run.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is pushing Johnson Sakaja to the wall. He personally made a call to someone in Uganda of which I will soon disclose. Regardless of these schemes and machinations we know that the court will serve justice to Sakaja. IEBC should stand firm in its grounds since they had already cleared Sakaja given that they play no role in investigation,” said Oscar Sudi via social media platforms.

Hon Sudi took to social media to demand that it was the president who made a secret phone conversation to one of Uganda’s senior officials, which resulted in the revocation of Sakaja’s degree certificate by CUE.

In the coming days, he has vowed to divulge the identity of the individual who spoke with President Uhuru Kenyatta. Hon Johnson Sakaja previously stated that he received his first degree credential from Uganda’s Team University.
