37 days before the elections, Kenyans awakened this morning to the possibility that DP Ruto would detain Uhuru if he wins. In his recently published manifesto, where he pledged to end state capture and appoint a commission to look into Uhuru’s administration, DP Ruto purportedly revealed this new plan for Uhuru. The action was consequently taken to imply that Uhuru might be subject to judicial repercussions if it turns out that he overstepped his authority.

Jubilee Party Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni has issued a warning on what will happen if Uhuru is imprisoned. The nation has been forewarned by Kioni that the action may undermine its stability and even cause anarchy.

This would suggest that DP Ruto is a dictator who would not uphold the constitution and instead establish his own laws, according to Kioni. According to Kioni, the Executive lacks the power to decide whether to arrest and charge a person. This decision belongs solely to the Judiciary.

Kioni on Ruto’s plan

This clearly shows that they (Kenya Kwanza) are seeking revenge and will keep up with the political witch hunt they have been talking about, Kioni continued. Ruto and his colleagues have been urged by Kioni to drop their reckless proposal to detain President Uhuru Kenyatta.

This is something that caused internet fireworks as people reacted differently to how DP Ruto is planning to harshly discipline his colleague. However, DP Ruto talked about Uhuru in Tharaka Nithi saying that he has no trouble with him. He said that all he wants is that he should be given Raila to face him alone minus Uhuru who is strongly supporting him.

However, Kenyans are asked to remain calm ahead of the August elections and not accept to be lured into any deals that are meant to disrupt the coming elections. DP Ruto has continued winning more numbers as the 2022 race gets tough.
