Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has poked holes into president Uhuru Kenyatta’s academic credentials following the ongoing probe of authenticating the validity of the academic qualifications of various politicians.
Speaking on Saturday, 1st July 2022, Sudi hinted that most politicians have fake academic papers, and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) should scrutinize all candidates eyeing various elective seats to prove the authenticity of their papers.
“Sasa sai nasikia mara Sakaja hana degree na wanamsumbua na mambo mengi. Sai ndio wamejua kumbe wanasiasa wengi hawana masomo” Sudi said.
He also questioned president Uhuru Kenyatta’s academic papers. Sudi noted that the president is believed to have pursued his University education at Amherst College, but there has been no proof to defend the claims.
He noted that despite the “deep state’s” alleged efforts to bar him from vying for the Kapseret parliamentary seat, he can confidently name his classmates to defend his academic credentials.
“EACC wanafaa pia waangalie Uhuru Kenyatta. Si alituambia alisomea sijui Amherst College? Kuna kitu yoyote inaonyesha alisoma huko na akagraduate? Mimi naweza taja my classmates wenye tulisoma na wao” he added.
Sudi added that Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula is the only politician with valid academic credentials. He claimed Wetangula’s intellect can be proven by his prowess in articulating legislative matters in the senate.
“Mimi kitu najua, Moses Wetangula, Papa Wa Roma ndiye ako na masomo sana. Si huwa mnaona venye anachapa kizungu pale kwa senate?” Sudi added.
This comes after Nairobi senator and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) gubernatorial candidate Johnson Sakaja is under thorough scrutiny by the Commission for University Education (CUE) after it was alleged that he falsely obtained a Bachelor of Science in Management (External) degree certificate from Team University in Uganda.
Other candidates facing a similar fate include; the Wiper party candidate for Machakos gubernatorial contest, Wavinya Ndeti, Amani National Congress (ANC) party candidate for Kakamega gubernatorial seat, Cleophas Malala, UDA Candidate for Kilifi gubernatorial position, Aisha Jumwa.
