President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s son Musa Hassan was spotted at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi on a lively evening, alongside Tanzanian music stars Harmonize and Rayvanny.
He is said to be the main supporter of Dar City, a professional basketball team from Tanzania.
This appearance was part of the Road to BAL Elite 16 tournament, an event bringing top African basketball teams together from November 18 to 23, 2025. The team is working hard to qualify for the prestigious Basketball Africa League (BAL), and his presence highlights the growing popularity of the sport in Tanzania.
Harmonize, known for hits like “Kainama” and “Amelowa,” and Rayvanny, famous for “Kwetu,” were seen strolling through the arena with a group of people.
Many of them wore yellow shirts with “Dar City” printed on them, showing their support for the Tanzanian team, which had recently won the National Basketball League title in Tanzania. The singers looked relaxed and happy, smiling as they walked through the crowd. The two artists, who had previously worked together under the Wasafi record label, continue to be close friends despite branching out to start their own careers.

However, the visit didn’t come without controversy. On social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), some Kenyan users expressed anger over Harmonize’s presence, calling him a “propagandist” for President Suluhu.
Tensions between some Kenyans and Tanzania’s leadership have been simmering, and many criticized Tanzanian artists who support the current government. Calls for a boycott of artists who praise Suluhu or stay silent on certain political issues were voiced quickly after the videos surfaced online.
