Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is already trying to secure the presidency in future barely a month after being sworn in as the country’s second in command, Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo says.
He argues that it is for this reason that the former Mathira MP is already too vocal and reckless, at times making careless and unneeded remarks.
Maanzo says that what Gachagua is doing is trying to impress Kenyans and possibly have them consider him for the presidency in the coming days.
The lawmaker notes that while Gachagua has every right to do what he is trying to achieve, he is doing it the wrong way and is as a result giving Kenyans a different picture.
“Rigathi Gachagua is already trying to impress Kenyans that he can be president one day but he is doing it the wrong way. He is becoming toxic,” he said on Tuesday as is quoted by The Star.
The leader, who is allied to the opposition’s Azimio La Umoja coalition, pointed out that Gachagua is now becoming toxic.
He advised him to conduct himself in a responsible manner and emulate his boss, President William Ruto, who he said is more decent.
“As a country, we expect a responsible deputy president who will be speaking the mind of his boss,” he added.
Gachagua has in the past few days alone bashed former President Uhuru Kenyatta and CBK Governor Patrick Njoroge, days after being seen dangerously hanging on his car door while waving to residents in Kisumu.
