Malala to launch gubernatorial bid at Mumias Complex ground in Kakamega

Kakamega senator and Amani National Congress (ANC) gubernatorial candidate Cleophas Malala has stormed, Malinya, Ikolomani, on vote hunting mission ahead of the much-hyped and christened gubernatorial launch at Mumias Complex ground in Kakamega.

Malala was flanked by ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Mumias East legislator Benjamin Washiali and a host of area MCAs to rally the electorates to endorse his gubernatorial bid.

Speaking during the rally, Mudavadi vouched for Kakamega residents to vote for Malala in the forthcoming August 9 elections to install the county’s dignity and reinforce equity in allocating funds for various projects within the county.

“Malala has exemplary overperformed from the time he was elected MCA to become the senator. He has captured the national image and has a bright political future. I want to urge you not to thwart such a glowing star of this youthful legislator. He will reinstall the dignity of this county by ensuring equity in resource allocation,” Mudavadi said.

Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali expressed confidence in Malala’s gubernatorial bid, affirming that Kenya kwanza will secure many seats in the Western region.

“We already have governor, senator, Women rep, MPs, and MCAs. We will win as many seats as possible under Kenya Kwanza Alliance. I have worked with Malala for a long, and I can tell you without fear of contradiction that he is the right person to take the county seat,” Washiali noted.

Malala is set to launch a gubernatorial bid at Mumias Complex ground with all political temperatures rising over anticipations of his manifesto to the people of Kakamega.

He was elected in 2013 as area MCA before ascending to the senatorial post in 2017.

Malala seeks to face off Azimio – One Kenya candidate Fernandez Barasa, who is vying on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM( party ticket, United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate Cyrus Jirongo, and KANU’s Suleiman Sumba, among other candidates.
