Kalonzo To Snub Azimio’s Running Mate Announcement At Kamukunji

Wiper party supremo Kalonzo Musyoka will not attend Azimio – One Kenya running mate announcement at Kamukunji ground, Nairobi, says Wiper party.

Although Kalonzo Musyoka’s whereabouts remains scanty, Wiper party has clarified that Kalonzo will not join Azimio –  One Kenya principals at Kamukunji ground for the long-awaited running mate declaration.

Raila and Uhuru received final report from advisory panel chairman, Noah Wekesa, after vetting and evaluating potential candidates for the principal assistant slot in Azimio – One Kenya.

Earlier on, Kalonzo had threatened to ditch Azimio – One Kenya coalition if Raila won’t consider his bid for running mate slot. Kalonzo also cautioned Azimio partners that Raila risks losing presidency to DP Ruto if he ( Kalonzo) will not be handed the running mate position in the coalition.

Among the candidates wrestling in the final ring for the seat includes; Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka and Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya.

Raila is expected to announce his running mate today Sunday, 15th May, 2022 at Kamukunji ground, Nairobi.

Deputy President William Ruto is also set to unveil his running mate today after failing to announce yesterday, Saturday.

Speaking on Saturday night at DP Ruto’s official residence in Karen, Hustler Nation Director of Communication Hussein Mohammed revealed that Kenya Kwanza principals have already solved the running mate equation and the chosen candidate will be announced today, Sunday.

“The running mate issue was extensively discussed today, we are happy to announce that we have a decision as Kenya Kwanza and the decision has been reached and will be officially communicated to you, to the country tomorrow,” said Mr. Mohamed who later clarified he meant Sunday and not Monday.

Ruto and Raila are racing against time to beat the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) deadline of 16th May, 2022 which they are required to submit the names of their respective running mates.
