Kalonzo Calls For Crisis Meeting With Ukambani Leaders Before Presenting Presidential Nomination Papers To IEBC

The Wiper leader has been showing mixed signals on his political moves

Wiper Democratic party presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka has called for a crisis meeting with Ukambani leaders on Friday to consolidate on the community’s political discourse at helm of ongoing confusions on whether to rejoin Azimio – One Kenya coalition or vie for presidency.

According to Kalonzo’s aide, Wiper Democratic Party boss has called for the meeting with Ukambani leaders at his Yatta home to carry the aspirations of entire region in every political move that he makes.

“Our party leader wants to meet with leaders from Lower Eastern so that every decision he makes, moving forward, carries the aspirations of the entire region. That is why he has invited most Wiper leaders to his Yatta home,” said Mr Musyoka’s aide.

Recently, Kalonzo submitted 48,000 valid signatures from 24 counties across the country to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for vetting for presidency.

Kalonzo defected from Azimio – One Kenya after failing to secure running mate position. Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Raila Odinga who is also Azimio – One Kenya flag bearer settled on Martha Karua and appointed Kalonzo as the Chief Cabinet Minister in Azimio government.

However, Wiper affiliates have demanded structured talks to guarantee the specific cabinet positions that the party will get from Azimio government.

Musyoka is lobbying for Foreign Affairs, Energy, Health among other prime seats to seal the deal of rejoining Azimio – One Kenya coalition.

Other principals who defected from Azimio – One Kenya includes; Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader Alfred Mutua, Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) party leader Amason Jeffa Kingi.
