Nairobi, Kenya – Businesswoman and politician Agnes Kagure has sparked speculations that she may run for the Nairobi governor’s seat again in 2027, after she failed to clinch the Jubilee Party ticket in 2022.

In a tweet posted on Wednesday, Kagure shared a photo of herself in a campaign rally in 2022, accompanied by a cryptic message that suggested she had not given up on her ambitions to lead the capital city.Senator Ledama sympathizes with Sakaja after harsh criticism from DP Gachagua – Nairobi News

“A throwback to my journey into Jerusalem in 2022. Agents of Satan and party brokers conspired to frustrate my entry, but we have studied them and we now have our own Master Keys. Better must come, Nairobi must rise,” she wrote.

Kagure, who is a prominent city tycoon and philanthropist, had declared her interest in the Nairobi gubernatorial race in 2022, but was edged out by former Vivo Energy boss Polycarp Igathe, who secured the Jubilee Party ticket.

Igathe, however, lost the election to UDA’s Johnson Sakaja, who became the third governor of Nairobi after Mike Sonko and Evans Kidero.

Kagure, who vied as an independent candidate, came third in the polls, garnering 12% of the votes.Top facts about Agnes Kagure net worth, foundation, husband - newsline

She has since remained vocal on issues affecting Nairobi residents, such as water supply, sanitation, health care, and public transport.

She has also been involved in various charitable initiatives, such as sponsoring education for needy children, empowering women and youth, and supporting environmental conservation.

Her tweet has elicited mixed reactions from netizens, with some expressing their support for her potential bid, while others dismissing her as a perennial loser.
