Ruto Ally Reveals How Raila, Deep State Tried To Influence Supreme Court Judgment

President William Ruto never reached out to Supreme Court judges to influence the August presidential election petition, one of his allies has said.

The judges ruled in favour of Ruto, whose win in the August poll had been disputed by ODM leader Raila Odinga, citing rigging and vote manipulation.
UDA National Chair Johnson Muthama, an ally of Ruto, has rubbished claims that the judges were under directions, saying that there was none.

He has claimed that it is actually members of Raila’s Azimio La Umoja coalition and members of the System who tried to reach out to the bench.

“I swear none of UDA or Kenya Kwanza tried to reach SCOK Judges. It is Azimio and the system that tried to reach the judges to try and change the election,” the former Machakos senator said on Monday.

He made the remarks in an interview with TV47, at a time when Raila and his running mate Martha Karua are yet to accept both the election outcome and court verdict.

Raila and his allies have accused the judges of being partisan, further taking issue with the words they used while throwing out their case.

Ruto, however, welcomed the ruling, days after praising the IEBC over what he called free and fair polls.
