Deputy President William Ruto has been abandoned by the statehouse spokesperson Kanze Dena for August 9 contest.
Speaking on Tuesday, 7th, June, during Maendeleo ya Wanawake event in Mombasa, Kanze Dena, publicly endorsed Azimio – One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga, affirming President Uhuru Kenyatta’s preferred choice in the succession race.
“Wametuzoea kwa magredi ya kupigana na pilau jikoni lakini sasa tumeongezea magurudumu ya maendeleo tuko wapi… tuko mbele,” Kanze said.
Dena hinted that Raila Odinga’s presidency is the economy’s resuscitation channel that would uphold Uhuru Kenyatta’s legacy and accomplish the unfinished projects in the Jubilee administration.
Although the state officials are barred from associating themselves with active politics, it is crude clear that Kanze’s sentiments are directly catapulted by Uhuru’s decision to support Raila Odinga in the August poll.
The head of state president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have been engaging in a direct exchange of words, exposing the bruise divorce between the two heads.
Uhuru snubbed Ruto for Raila Odinga over the accusations that he (Ruto) abandoned his tasks as the second in command to the concentrate on spearheading his 2022 presidential bid.
Uhuru has been on the record for faulting Ruto over boasting and chest thumbing of Jubilee party projects at the same time accusing the same administration of forging mechanisms to change the constitution to serve the interests of a few elites in Azimio – One Kenya.
