UDA artists go for each other over entertainment money

A major rift has brewed in deputy president William Ruto’s led United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party after the artists and song composers started blasting each other over the theft of entertainment money.

The celebrated Kigooco (praise) leader Ngaruiya Junior, who has been playing a key role in UDA rallies, especially on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Mt Kenya turf, is no longer hiding his fury after it emerged that his senior in the industry Muigai Wa Njoroge has been “slicing the cake” belonging to entertainers in UDA party.

Ngaruiya accused Muigai of withholding some of the entertainment money meant to be shared among artists leaving peanuts for other artists in Ruto’s faction to scramble for.

“Muigai, you are a senior artist and you are supposed to mentor the young and the upcoming but you have instead become their oppressor,” disgruntled Ngaruiya said in a section of his statement on Facebook.

“Whenever you are given their money, you always must withhold some. Whenever you’re assigned a task as a team, you must cause division to remain because you believe to be the senior-most,” added Ngaruiya in a post he made today, July 12.

He also alleged that Muigai has been plotting his dismissal in United Democratic Alliance despite hyping hustler nation events in the Mt Kenya region and serving the wheelbarrow party wholeheartedly.

He said that Muigai enforced the deletion of his UDA skiza code out of jealousy.

“You even went ahead to have my UDA Skiza Code deleted out of jealousy. Allow me to tell you that your God is the same God to the minority artists and you will drink from the same cup you made voiceless artists drink from,” he added.

The constant push and pull in UDA among the artists erupted after Muigai released a song titled “Ciumburane” depicting that a revolution was due to allowing the son of a peasant to lead the country.

Muigai has been a major critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration especially since he entered a handshake pact with Azimio Presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

He (Muigai) has been a resourceful artist in drumming support for DP Ruto’s presidency.
