Drama, panic, and shock rocked Kitengela town for the better part of Tuesday afternoon when an unidentified man caught an intruder enjoying intimate moments with his wife in his house (sitting room) before picking up a machete and fearlessly chopping off the intruder’s legs.
According to a report by a local media station on July 9, it was confirmed that the man was returning from a nearby estate where he had been employed by a friend (in a menial job) when he found himself in an unfamiliar situation.
The angry man, police said, had information about the intruder having an affair with his wife.
“The attacker works in Kitengela and when he was done with his morning work, he went to his house only to find the alleged teacher having an affair with his wife,” Kitengela OCS David Shani said.
After committing the offense, the man walked to the Kitengela police station and surrendered.
He told the police that he had attacked another man he found in his bed having sex with his wife.
“The man asked the police what he should have done when a lion jumped into his boma. I walked into the house, pulled my knife, and chopped his legs to teach him a lesson,” Shani said.
The suspect was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi after bleeding profusely.
Shani said the man who presented himself to the police will be arraigned.
People in the neighborhood rushed to the house and found the man bleeding.
“The house was littered with blood from the bedroom to the sitting room,” Shani said.
This development comes amidst escalating cases of homicides and femicides, where the DCI has concluded that the motive of the killings in most cases revolves around love triangles.
It remains unclear whether the man was released or is still in police custody.
