Deputy President William Ruto flanked the head of state president Uhuru Kenyatta among other dignities, including the opposition leader Raila Odinga for the 59th Madaraka Day Celebrations at Uhuru Gardens.
Uhuru dismissed the usual protocol and snubbed his principal assistant William Ruto as he denied him a chance to address the nation.
Uhuru dismissed Ruto and Raila as he only invited the president of Seria Leone Julius Maada Bio to give his speech.
Leading the protests on social media, Gatundu South MP and Chama Cha Kazi party head Moses Kuria laughed back at Uhuru, informing that today’s celebrations marks the last event to be presided by Uhuru as the head of state.

Nyeri town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, Azimio – One Kenya key affiliate, blamed Ruto for allegedly fighting the government that he is part and parcel.
“If you can’t play for the team you are in, don’t complain when the team excludes and/or doesn’t recognize you when you are playing” he said.
“In less than 2 months, we shall ensure that people who should never have been anywhere near power, are never that near power, ever again” he added.
According to the former State House Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi, the second in command is directly headed at Thirime Primary School in Kikuyu to support the Grassroot sports.
“DP William Ruto, the president who will preside over the next Madaraka Day, will be shortly in Thirime Primary School in Kikuyu to support grassroot sports” said Itumbi
