Azimio – One Kenya coalition party chairman president Uhuru Kenyatta and coalition party leader Raila Odinga are expected to hold Azimio joint meeting tomorrow, Friday, 24th at KICC in Nairobi.
“Take notice that a meeting of the Coalition Council, to be chaired by the Party Leader (Mr Odinga), will be held on the 24 June 2022, at KICC starting at 10.00 am,” President Kenyatta said in a notice to council members.
According to sources aware of the meeting, the coalition heads are set to structure coalition party policies and frame campaign strategies to impute into the coalition matrix to ensure that Raila Odinga secures the seat in August 9 contest.
This becomes the second meeting the coalition is holding this year, 2022. The first meeting was held on 21st April, 2022.
Uhuru is on the verge of ensuring that Raila Odinga beats all the political odds to succeed him in the forthcoming battle.
He endorsed Raila after neglecting his deputy William Ruto for allegedly absconding and abdicating his duties as deputy president to engage in early campaigns ahead of next election.
The latest polls have fronted the former prime minister Raila Odinga as the preferred candidate, beating DP Ruto with over 5 per cent.
Other candidates seeking the presidency include; The Roots Party presidential hopeful George Luchiri Wajackoyah and Agano Party’s David Waihiga Mwaura.
