The General Elections are approaching, and every politician is doing all possible to get on the ballot box on August 9 and win. The frontrunners, Raila and Ruto, chose their running mates a while ago who is to aid them in their campaigns and assist them in getting more votes.

William Ruto, the deputy president running for president has chosen Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate. According to polls performed by several organizations, Ruto’s chances of victory have decreased since he chose Gachagua as his running mate.

“What we notice in this research is that the naming of the running mates had a huge impact on the popularity of the candidates in various regions,” said Infotrak research CEO Angela Ambitho.

According to their analysis, Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate of the Kenya Alliance, is ahead of the United Democratic Alliance’s nominee, William Ruto.

As Kenyans prepare to vote in the general elections in 2022, presidential candidates have continued campaigning around the country. Raila Odinga, whose running mate is Martha Karua and William Ruto, whose running mate is Rigathi Gachagua are two of the most powerful candidates.

Both candidates plan to run their campaigns on Mt Kenya which has a high voter turnout. Both chose their running partner from the region, leaving the Mt Kenya community unsure who to support. Many people are discussing the results of a recent Kameme tv survey about who the Mt Kenya community supports

According to their poll, William Samoei Ruto has 52 per cent of the vote, with Raila Odinga coming in second with 27 per cent. With over eight million votes, the Mt Kenya community has a good chance of determining the next president.

The battle has become very tough and at the random polls desk, Raila and DP Ruto have continued competing with each other badly with DP Ruto on the top most of the time.
