President William Ruto is not done with the Luo Nyanza region, after giving it a position in his cabinet, former Nyatike MP Omondi Anyanga has said.
Nyanza is among the regions that have benefited from Ruto’s recent ministerial appointments, despite shunning him in the concluded election.
The former lawmaker says that Ruto might be planning to give the region even more positions in his government, as a way of carrying it along.
He says that Ruto has shown that he harbours no grudge against the region, and it is now upon area natives to work with him for their own benefit.
“It should dawn on us that the elections are over. Ruto is now the president of Kenya. We should work with him for the befit of our region and the country at large. We thank him for nominating Owalo and we are confident many more appointments are on the way,” the politician told the press on Sunday.
Ruto names Owalo in his cabinet
Ruto named (Eliud) Owalo his ICT Cabinet Secretary nominee, only weeks after his faceoff with ODM leader Raila Odinga, the percieved Nyanza kingpin.
On Sunday he toured Homa Bay County, one of the counties making up the larger Luo Nyanza, and pledged his readiness to work with the region.
