Jubilee party Secretary-General and Ndaragwa legislator Jeremiah Kioni has hinted that Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto is planning to petition Raila’s victory after the August contest.

Speaking at FK Hotel in Nyeri, where he had convened Jubilee meeting with aspirants in the county, Kioni banked on Infotrak’s poll that fronted Raila as the most preferred presidential candidate with 42 per cent.

He alleged that UDA executive director, Maina, wrote to NIS decrying the chances of Azimio – One Kenya faction to rig the August election.

“UDA is preparing for a petition and that is why they are looking for how to challenge Raila’s win in court. Maina, their executive director, wrote to NIS because they know they have lost the 2022 election and they are now preparing for the petition,” he said.

Kioni boasted of Raila’s certain victory affirming that the difference between Raila and Ruto will be wide and open not to allow Kenya Kwanza brigade to move to court.

“We will not allow unnecessary challenge in court, you can always go to court but the difference between Raila and Ruto will be such that everybody will be seeing that they are wasting our time,” Kioni added.

Echoing Kioni’s remarks, Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu argued that Raila’s victory is inevitable and would beat Ruto with a 30 per cent margin in the next poll.

“Raila is gaining ground and I can assure you that before the August contest, he (Raila) will be over 60 per cent, not even this 40 per cent you are being told by Infotrak,” Ngunjiri said.

Ruto

However, DP Ruto’s online strategist Dennis Itumbi alleged that Kioni had directed Mt Kenya Jubilee aspirants to sell the party independently and ignore promoting Raila’s presidency.

Itumbi added that Jubilee party allied legislators have lived to the ‘fact’ that Ruto will clinch to the country’s top seat in the forthcoming election.
