Deputy President and Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential candidate William Ruto has floored Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party head Raila Odinga for the country’s top seat in the latest survey.
According to the poll, Ruto beats the tape first with 43.3 per cent while Azimio – One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga comes second with 42.6 per cent creating a difference of only 0.7 per cent.
Murang’a governor Mwangi Wa Iria on the other hand, commanded 2.3 per cent as others scrambled for 1.9 per cent.
The detailed report also indicated that 6.1 per of eligible electorates remains undecided as the clock to August contest is unstoppably ticking.
The poll shortened the gap between the two perceived horses in the race, Raila and Ruto especially after Azimio – One Kenya coalition settled on Martha Karua for the running mate position.
Raila and Uhuru’s decision to pick Narc Kenya party boss was allegedly occasioned by Kenya Kwanza’s nomination of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua for the principal assistant post in the Alliance.
Karua and Gachagua are racing against time to solidify the votes from Mt Kenya region for their respective presidential candidates.
