The looming sharp division in Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) openly played during Azimio – One Kenya rally in Homabay after Mbita legislator Millie Odhiambo literally declined to shake hands with Homabay Women Representative Gladys Wanga.
According to the video seen by Mambo Mseto, Millie Odhiambo stormed the Azimio rally when ODM chairman Hon Mbadi was addressing the crowd as she was heavily cheered by the excited and charged Azimio confidants, bringing the event to a temporary halt.
“Welcome Hon Millie Odhiambo, Welcome once again. Thank you for coming” John Mbadi welcomed her as Odhiambo Tosha chants rented the air.
However, Odhiambo walked majestically towards the podium and shook hands with Azimio – One Kenya running mate nominee Martha Karua among other notable leaders present.
She skipped Gladys Wanga leaving the attendees in a rude shock, depiction the perceived sharp division in ODM that risks jeopardizing Raila Odinga’s statehouse bid in the August 9 contest.
Genesis of Millie-Wanga tiff
It has been established that Gladys Wanga and Millie Odhiambo’s bruise political rivalry erupted after Wanga was accused of secretly supporting Millie Odhiambo’s opponent for Mbita parliamentary seat, Jimmy Agembe Akali.
Millie Odhiambo is also said to be courting an independent candidate and former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero for Homabay gubernatorial seat.
Despite being ODM dependable legislators, Millie Odhiambo and Gladys Wanga have been wrestling each other ever since 2013 over region supremacy.
