United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirant for Embakasi East parliamentary seat Francis Mureithi has accused his main challenger, Babu Owino of ODM who was declared MP elect in the contest, for allegedly plotting the cold murder of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) official, Daniel Mbolu Musyoka of Embakasi East Constituency.
Speaking during a press, Mureithi called upon the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers to probe into Mr Musyoka’s murder case by exhaustively interrogating and grilling his competitor, Babu Owino, OCPD and OCS in Embakasi East Constituency.
He alleged that three might have colluded to plot the cold murder of Mr. Musyoka after declining to rig election in favour of MP Babu Owino.
Mureithi asks police to investigate Babu Owino
“I want to call upon DCI to investigate OCS, OCPD and Babu Owino in Embakasi East for the death of Mr. Musyoka. We can’t afford to lose a father, a husband, a bread winner to the family just because of politics. During the election day, OCPD and OCS in Embakasi East accosted Babu Owino security as he was crisscrossing various polling stations in the constituency to monitor the voting process. Why should he be given such security on the voting day?. We know Mr. Musyoka refused to take bribe from Babu and that was the beginning of his fate” Mureithi told the media.
Babu Owino has also asked the investigative officers to probe into murder of Mr Musyoka for the culprits to face the wrath of the law.
Babu Owino was declared MP elect after garnering 60,856 votes while Mureithi wielded 20,152 votes.
On Tuesday, the family of Mr Musyoka claimed that the deceased was murdered after declining to take bribe from a certain MP candidate to employ election irregularities mechanisms in his favour.
Mr Musyoka’s lifeless body was reportedly found at base of Mt Kilimanjaro, Loitoktok, Kajiado county with body mutilated and dumped on the show of a seasonal river.
Livestock herders who found the body reported the matter to police station before being taken to Loitoktok Sub-county mortuary, where the deceased’s sister identified the body.
